GOB addresses oil delay

The Government of Belize says it is not responsible for the temporary delay in the replenishment of the supply of diesel. In a release issued yesterday, the Ministry of Finance said that this delay is quote, “solely due to unanticipated difficulties encountered by PDVSA, not by PUMA or the GOB, in the offloading of a shipment of fuel from Venezuela to Belize, and has absolutely nothing to do with any payment by GOB of its fuel bill. In fact, Gob says that all its bills are, and are expected to remain, up to date. Today we spoke to the General Manager of APBEL John Mencias, who explained where the problem lies.
